Cookie Policy
Last updated May 08, 2018
This Cookie Policy explains how Cascade Software Ltd (“Cascade”, “we”, “us”, and “ours”) use cookies and similar technologies to recognise you when you visit our websites at www.cascadesoftware.co, www.cascadesoft.co.uk, www.abhaulier.co, www.abhaulierlt.co, www.abhaulierlt.com, www.abhaulierlt.uk, www.abloads.co.uk, www.abloadsspecialists.com, (“Websites”). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control use of them.
In some cases. we may use cookies to collect personal information, or that becomes personal information if we combine it with other information. In such cases our Privacy Policy will apply in addition to this Cookie Policy.
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Cascade) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. like advertising, interactive content and analytics). The parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.
Why do we use cookies?
We use first and third party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Websites to operate, and we refer to these as “essential” or “strictly necessary” cookies. Other cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Online Properties. Third parties serve cookies through our Websites for advertising, analytics and other purposes. This is described in more detail below.
The specific types of first and third party cookies served through our Websites and the purposes they perform are described below (please note that the specific cookies served may vary depending on the specific Online Properties you visit):
Analytics and customisation cookies:
These cookies collect information that is used either in aggregate form to help us understand how our Websites are being used or how effective our marketing campaigns are, or to help us customise our Websites for you.
• Who serves these cookies:
Cookie provider: Google Analytics
Website URL: https://;analytics.google.com
• How to refuse: To refuse these cookies, please follow the instructions below under the heading ‘How can I control cookies?”.
What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?
Cookies are not the only way to recognise or track visitors to a website. We may use other, similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognise when someone has visited our Websites or opened an email that we have sent them. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our Websites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Websites from an online advertisement displayed on a third party website, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of email marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.
How can I control cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies.
You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our website though your access to some functionality and areas of our website may be restricted. As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser-to-browser, you should visit your browser’s help menu for more information.
In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.youronlinechoices.com.
How often will you update this Cookie Policy?
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Please therefore re-visit this Cookies Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.
The date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was last updated.
Where can I get further information?

Rosie Marshall | Convoi Exceptionnel Ltd

Paul Brown | John Truswell & Son (garage) ltd
Steve Battison | NMT Crane Hire Ltd

Sue Prcychodny | S J H Allplant Group | I think that the Cascade system is far better than the ESDAL system and the staff at Cascade are very helpful . Trying to get assistance from ESDAL is almost impossible. Also they send 87ton lorries over village duck pond bridges on their routes. |
George Wheeler | Buckingham Plant Hire
John Campbell | J A Cox & Son Ltd | Probably best that I don't! |
Barry Hall | Continental Holiday Homes | This is against freedom of choice. This borders on a monopoly. This is not supported by legislation Why has this been implemented? |
Barry Hall | Continental Holiday Homes | This is against Freedom of choice, This should be addressed to the Monopoly's Commision. We are being forced into using a particular method to submit movements with no legislation to enforce!! |

kevin biddle | Rail Freight Services | Another idea which no doubt will be sprung by a procurement department who have never had to work in the real world, or manage anything themselves. Ridiculous |

MARK HARRIS | CHAPPELLS OF STUBBINGTON LTD | AFTER TRYING ESDAL, CASCADE ABHAULIER IS BY FAR SUPERIOR AND WE WOULD NOT SWITCH BACK. MERSEYSIDE POLICE NEED TO REALISE THAT WE HAVE A CHOICE |
DAVID GOODALL | VEHICLE ROUTING SERVICES LTD | HAVE SPOKEN TO OFFICER OF ABNORMALLOADS IN THE PAST HE HAS NOT GOT A CLUE WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT I WAS ABNORMAL LOADS OFFICER FOR WARWICKSHIRE CONSTABULARY AND I AM DISGUSTED IN WAY MERSEYSIDE POLICE ARE RUNIING THIS DEPARTMENT THEY GET A BUDGET FROM THE HOME OFFEICE TO ADMINISTER ABLOADS WHAT ARE THEY USING THIS MONEY FOR ??? ALSO ESDAL NOTIFICATION FORMS ARE NOT IN A FORMAT AS THEY SHOULD BE AS IN IN STGO & C & U AND REGS ALSO STATE THEY SHOULD BE FAXED OR EMAIL OR POSTED |
Jason lengden | Squirrel marine ltd
Alan Wilson | L & W Wilson(Endmoor) Ltd | The Esdal mapping system is very difficult to use (we have phoned to resolve without success) compared to Cascade which allows us to zoom in and out at either end of the journey enabling us to provide very accurate information to the recipients of the information. It is quicker to use Cascade Software and very user friendly, both of which are important issues for us a Haulier. All abnormal loads are only notified via Cascade Software, we request that Merseyside police acknowledge our legal right to use this system.. |
Jamie Mitchell | aardvark hire
david tate | martrain heavy haulage | hauliers should not be made to use the esdal system if they do not want to. the routing in the esdal system can be very time consuming and lets be honest its not great. Merseyside police need to put more staff on to handle abnormal loads notifications. i do use the esdal system for my one off notifications but not for my months permits. |
jennifer Clune | HRS International Transport. | Notification by e mail is acceptable to all other forces so why do Merseyside Police think they have the right to do this.? |

Simon Raymond Haynes | Gray Plant Hire Ltd
P A Laing | P A Laing | |

Peter Moore | Hutchinson Engineering services Ltd
joanna pugh | John Sutch Cranes | I feel that we should not be made to use a system to assist with our notifications that we are not happy with using. |
Nick Malpus | MK Plant Transport | Cascade do an excellent job helping all abhauliers, they have helped me to massively grow my business. |
Darrell Langthorne | Metcalfe Farms (Haulage) Ltd | We send all our own notifications out by email including monthly's. |
Gary Jamieson | John Sutch Crane Hire
Anna Reed | Plant Speed | I send our notices by email, and this works for Plant Speed instead of using any other system. |
Bob Bennett | Kings Heavy Haulage Ltd | I agree totally with Cascade Software's view on this subject |
DONNA KEARNS | Pasuda Site Services Ltd | We carry wide load portable buildings, most of the sites are new building site and have surveys carried out by us and we look at the most suitable route for our load and to comply with all regulations, we find Esdal not user freindly at all and on many occastions the esdal system will ot recognise our site addresses, so we find we have to route to the nearest possible place, also the routes plotted by esdal do not always match the route advised by our surveyor, we then have to try and change the route on esdal, which is time consuming. Also compared with the standard abnormal load forms, the route suppplied on the esdal notifications is difficult for the driver to read and understand. |
Paul Hiles | Sangwin Plant Hire Ltd
Chris Walters | HTC Wolffkran Ltd
Nigel Armson | A S Taylor Transport
Rob Teahan | Teahan Convoi Service Ltd
Will Towne | Collett & Sons

Peter Bainbridge | West of Scotland Heavy Haulage | I thought the Police were there to enforce the law not make it |
David Collett | Collett & Sons Ltd
Judith Grange | Blazefield Caravans Ltd
Emma Barton | AbHaulier Services | Surely this is about 'choice' and we choose NOT to use an inadequate system which is based on American mapping and was built outside the UK and doesn't do the job of providing a full management package for notifying authorities correctly in line with legislation! |
Rory McDonald | Hi-Line Transport Ltd
simon mcdonald | Hi-Line Transport Ltd
Neil McDonald | Hi-Line Transport Ltd
keith hall | Rapid Response Solutions | I am not a user off Esdal, there is not legislation that says I have to use Esdal for Abnormal load movement. All other forces have Abnormal Load email address which I find a lot easier to use with my own route and not one that is created by Esdal. |
Tony Buckland | Readypower Engineering Ltd. | Cascade is a much better system than Esdal2, why would you want us to use an inferior system? |
John Watt | Lubbers UK | |
Jon Hugill | Hallett Silbermann Ltd. | Whilst Esdal is a free to use system it is not particularly user friendly and we need to retain the ability to notify by other means, as laid down in statute. |
Wayne Dalton | Lynch Plant Hire and Haulage
Dave Stubbs | Lynch Plant Hire
Charlotte Baguley | John Sutch Cranes
joanna pugh | joanna.pugh@johnsutchcranes.co | I fully support Abhaulier in their case regards choice in how notifications are submitted |
