We love abnormal loads

Cascade provides a comprehensive abnormal load management and notification checking service on behalf of structure owners and police authorities. Cascade also provides abnormal load notification software and an abnormal load notification service to hauliers to enable them to notify within the required legislation.

Cascade Software established

To develop and market simple user-friendly engineering software.

Beam & TimBeam software

These provided simple structural steel and timber beam design tools for engineers.

1991

Analyse software

A two dimensional frame, truss and grillage analysis program providing support for small building and foundation design, particularly roofs and raft foundations.

1992

Arch software

A unique mechanism method masonry arch bridge analysis program, which achieved considerable success with consulting engineers and local authorities involved in the highway bridge assessment programme current at the time.
Upgrades of Analyse were also oriented towards bridge analysis, integrating with Arch and incorporating highway loadings and Wood/Armer reinforcement analysis. Arch has subsequently been upgraded to the 2001 DfT standards and additionally provides for Network Rail railway loadings and MEXE.

AbLoads software developement started

AbLoads is Cascade's flagship Abnormal Loads management and structure checking software for Structure Owning Authorities

AbLoads goes operational for Kent County Council

We are proud that Kent County Council remains a customer today.

AbLoads QuickCheck software added

AbLoads QuickCheck,which provides just simple bridge checking without the communications, management and mapping elements of AbLoads, was developed. AbLoads QuickCheck is designed for authorities receiving only a few notifications each week.

2002

AbHaulier software for hauliers introduced

Predating ESDAL by 6 years, AbHaulier was the first software developed specifically for hauliers moving abnormal loads and enabled electronic submission of notifications for the first time.

AbLoads Service introduced

Kent Councty Council became the first structure owning authority to realise the benefits of outsourcing the management of their abnormal loads processing to Cascade.

2014

AbHaulier Service introduced

After customer feedback, we offered AbHaulier Service for those hauliers that didn't want the responsibility of managing their abnormal load paperwork in-house.

2019

AbLoads Police software developed

Cascade completed the abnormal load triangle by developing advanced and comprehensive abnormal loads software for police authorities. We were delighted to work with the Metropolitan Police Service to develop this software for them to use in-house

AbLoads Police Service introduced

Much of the abnormal load process is to manage paperwork. We identified an opportunity to enable specialist police officers to concentrate on high risk movements and compiance by removing the day to day processing and checking of notifications
